LOMBARD STEAM LOG HAULER

Model Built by: Discord Draconequus and Proportioned by: TheGreatSudrian

Alvin Orlando Lombard was a blacksmith building logging equipment in Waterville, Maine. He built 83 steam log haulers between 1901 and 1917. These log haulers resembled a saddle-tank steam locomotive with a small platform in front of the boiler where the cow-catcher might be expected. A steering wheel on the platform moved a large pair of wheels beneath the platform. A set of tracked vehicle treads occupied the space beneath the boiler where driving wheels might be expected.

CLASS 755B 5-CYLINDER TRIPLE-EXPANSION COMPOUND GOODS ENGINE

Model Built by: Discord Draconequus

The 4-14-0 seen here is another example of "spare time" design work by Artur Gorote's staff. In this case the 5-cylinder drive of the 755A, which officially was never built on account of its extreme overall length. At first glance, the locomotive seems to be a well-balanced design, however the 5-cylinder compound drive would have taxed the boiler quite heavily and Gorote himself had his doubts and found the boiler inadequate. The Project was scrapped and the engine, left in the drafts.
