REX THE SMALL ENGINE

Background Info: Rex is a small green tender engine who lives and works on the Arlesdale Railway. He enjoys nothing more than teasing Mike. He is a hard worker and loves a good joke- especially one at Mike's expense. He is based on the Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway's River Esk locomotive.

ALVIN THE STEAM LOG HAULER
MISTY ISLAND EDITION

Alvin was a steam log hauler built by Alvin Orlando Lombard. He worked in Maine from 1901 to 1907. During his time in Maine, his left eye was damaged in an accident. in 1908, he was sent to Sodor to aid in clearing Henry's Forest, which was devastated by a storm. Alvin became an invaluable asset to the island's lumber operations and decided to stay permanently.

CLARENCE THE OLD ENGINE

Clarence was retired and having been withdrawn from service, he was nearly scrapped. However, he was later discovered by Sir Topham Hatt and restored. He now works at Vicarstown and pulls Enthusiast Trains.

98462 THE LOANED ENGINE

98462 is a Blue Tender engine who once visited the North Western Railway on trial from a railway on the Mainland. 98462 stayed at Vicarstown Sheds along with Edward, Henry, Gordon and a red tender engine. 98462 was known for being rough with the coaches. He had pulled the coaches so roughly, that the coupling on the coach had came right off. Eventually, the Fat Director decided to send him away for being rude, nasty and horrid to the engines.
